About the product
What problems does ProjectQ localization solve on a Chinese projector?
It turns a device with a Chinese interface into a projector you can comfortably use in English. Translation of the home screen and system settings is complemented by ProjectQ software: apps, voice control, integration with Alice, customization, updates and recovery. The aim is to use the projector itself without constantly translating Chinese menus. We confirm the exact scope for your model and firmware.
Can I restrict access for children or guests?
ProjectQ includes child and hotel modes: choose the available apps and sections, then set a password. Keep it somewhere safe.
Can I stop using an external TV box after installation?
In many supported setups, the apps and interface run on the projector itself. Whether you need a separate TV box depends on your services, DRM, the built-in Android capabilities and your equipment. ProjectQ does not increase the projector’s physical processing power.
Installation
Do I need to bring you my projector or connect it to a computer?
No. You submit a request and install the software at home on the projector itself. You need internet access, a USB flash drive and a phone. You can prepare the drive from a phone if it supports USB storage and you have a suitable adapter. There is no need to connect the projector to a computer with a cable.
GuidesWhat should I prepare before installation?
Have internet access on the projector, its original remote, a USB flash drive and a phone for device confirmation. Check the full model name on the housing or box. Save your personal request link: you will need it to continue the setup and for recovery.
GuidesWhy install the registration app first?
It identifies your device and software version so the team can confirm a suitable adaptation before payment. The registration app and the full ProjectQ system are separate installation stages.
GuidesThe setup wizard stopped at one of the steps. What should I do?
Read the step’s name and message. Check the internet connection, follow the hint and confirm any prompt on the projector. Retry this step using its own button. If the error remains, send support the model, step name and error message.
GuidesHow long does installation take, and can I do it myself?
The process is designed for self-installation: follow the prompts on your phone and projector. Duration depends on the connection, downloads and model. The guide and videos follow the wizard’s stages; support can help if a step does not finish.
GuidesPayment and recovery
What am I paying for, and is there a monthly fee?
You pay once for the ProjectQ adaptation for your projector. Free reinstallation after a reset on the same device and future updates are included. Subscriptions to streaming platforms and other third-party services are paid separately.
GuidesCan I restore ProjectQ for free after a factory reset?
Yes. Reinstallation on the same projector is free, with no limit on the number of resets. Open your previous personal link, get the registration app for this device, confirm the projector and follow the recovery wizard. Contact support if you cannot regain access.
GuidesCan I install my purchased version on another projector?
The purchase and free recovery apply to the projector for which the adaptation was ordered. Another device needs its own model check and request.
GuidesI lost my personal link. Do I need to buy again?
First, use access recovery on the request page or contact support with your purchase details. Losing your link alone is not a reason to make another paid purchase.
GuidesUpdates
Will I receive updates after purchase?
Yes. Your one-time payment includes future ProjectQ updates. When an update becomes available for your device, follow the notification or open your account. Each update depends on the readiness of the adaptation for your model.
GuidesDo I need to flash new firmware to use the projector in English?
ProjectQ English localization does not require replacing the factory firmware with a third-party system image. We preserve the original operating system and install a model-specific translation adaptation and our own software. The exact model and version are checked before installation. Manufacturer updates and ProjectQ updates are separate processes; check the recommendations for your device before updating the factory firmware.
GuidesCompatibility
My projector isn’t in the catalog. Could ProjectQ work with it?
Yes, compatibility goes beyond the catalog. The universal base may suit other devices too. Submit a request: the registration app identifies the device parameters, and the team confirms available features before payment. A suitable base does not yet mean every system menu has been translated.
GuidesWhy do similar models have different features?
Models and firmware versions differ in menus, remotes, voice input, source selection and app installation. We adapt each version to those differences. Always include the full Pro, Ultra and Max model names.
GuidesLanguage and appearance
Does ProjectQ translate the projector itself or just the home screen?
ProjectQ combines full English localization of the device with our own system for using it. We translate the home screen, menus and projector settings in the supported model profile. You also get apps, a home screen, voice features and Alice integration. The product goes beyond changing the launcher’s appearance. The confirmed translation scope is listed on the model page; we check the firmware before payment. Third-party apps control their own languages.
GuidesWhich languages are available?
The current base includes Russian, English, German, French and Arabic. Before installation, we confirm system translation in your chosen language for your device.
GuidesWhat can I customize in the appearance?
Layout, theme, color scheme and custom colors, wallpaper, tile size and shape, fonts, category visibility and block order. You can choose the starting section, hide unwanted sources and save an appearance profile.
GuidesHow do I save my appearance settings before a reset?
Export your appearance profile and save the file outside the projector. Import it after installation. The profile transfers supported appearance settings; it does not back up all app accounts and data.
GuidesHow many interface styles are there, and can I change their colors?
The classic set includes eight basic layouts. Classic ProjectQ, Sphere, Panorama and Ether visual styles also offer their own scenes. Color scheme, wallpaper, tile sizes and fonts are configured separately. Available styles depend on the adapted version for your model.
GuidesIs there a custom screensaver, and how do I exit it?
Yes, ProjectQ includes a screensaver with an adjustable idle time and a preview. The first remote press returns control. The screensaver does not replace the device’s own sleep and power-off settings.
GuidesApps and viewing
Do viewing history and resume playback work in every app?
These features are available for apps that share the required data with ProjectQ. Open the service, sign in if needed and play a video. Then check the history and recommendations on the home screen. The exact resume position depends on the app’s integration.
GuidesAre streaming subscriptions included in the ProjectQ price?
No. ProjectQ helps you install and use compatible apps. Subscriptions and content rights are determined by each service and your account.
GuidesHow do I install and update apps?
Open the ProjectQ store, find the app and follow the steps. Use versions suited to your model. Follow any prompts to sign in or confirm permissions.
GuidesDo I need to configure every app permission manually?
The wizard prepares your selected compatible apps and the necessary permissions. It prompts you when confirmation is needed. This helps apps work correctly; you can see each step’s result in the wizard.
GuidesVideo has sound but no picture. What should I check?
Check whether the projector menu appears and another file plays. Choose a compatible player and format using your model’s guide. Do not try random calibrations or resets. Contact support if the problem remains.
GuidesWhat does the background app setting do?
It lets required media services keep running when you open another app. Supported JMGO adaptations include a background-operation setting, useful for TorServer, for example. Check this feature’s availability and behavior for your exact model and firmware.
GuidesCan I enter text in English and use voice input?
The setup wizard prepares a English keyboard and an available voice input method for compatible apps. Microphone operation and recognition options depend on the model. In third-party apps, voice is used to enter text; commands are handled on the ProjectQ assistant screen.
GuidesVoice and smart home
What can the ProjectQ voice assistant do?
It can open apps, execute supported commands and help you find projector settings. Control commands run on the ProjectQ assistant screen; voice input in a third-party app sends that app the query text.
GuidesDo voice features always require internet?
An offline mode is available for the supported local commands. Online recognition, answers and smart-home control through Yandex need internet access. Available modes depend on the model, language and your choices; Google online mode is not offered for M2 Pro.
GuidesHow do I connect Yandex and smart home controls?
Open the Yandex connection in ProjectQ and sign in from your phone using the QR code. Set up your smart devices in your Yandex account first. Use supported commands and confirm the suggested actions.
GuidesPicture and connections
Can’t see the flash drive or HDMI? How do I open the source?
Use the devices and sources section in ProjectQ, or the projector’s corresponding original menu. Check the storage device’s connection and compatibility. If a source does not appear, open your model’s guide: USB and HDMI have different characteristics.
GuidesHow do I adjust focus and keystone correction?
First align the projector with the screen. Open focus and available geometry correction in the system settings. Names and capabilities depend on the model. Heavy digital correction reduces the usable image area.
GuidesCommunity and support
Who gets an invitation to the private ProjectQ forum?
Anyone who bought a projector or English localization from ProjectQ. If your invitation has not arrived, contact support with your order number or projector identifier. The forum lets you discuss usage, ask the team questions and share experience.
GuidesCan I buy a projector that is already localized into English?
Yes. ProjectQ is a projector store, and all our devices are ready for use in English. We adapt models with foreign menus; devices with a factory English interface do not need an additional translation. Check the product page and confirm the included equipment and ProjectQ package before purchase.
GuidesCan you help remotely if something isn’t working?
Yes, ProjectQ offers remote diagnostics. Contact support, provide the projector identifier and describe the issue. The team will agree the connection with you and explain any actions on the projector. Internet is required; available actions depend on the model and installed version.
GuidesWhy do you need the projector’s identifier?
This is a convenient reference number for support. It helps the team find your installation and investigate an error or recovery request. You can find it on the service screen provided by your ProjectQ version. Do not post your personal account link in public discussions.
GuidesDevice settings
Does ProjectQ add 3D and Dolby Vision to every projector?
No. These are model-specific features that cannot be assumed for every device. The adaptation materials describe JMGO 3D for N5 Ultra Max, and manual activation of Dolby Vision for O3 Ultra. Before installation, the team confirms availability for your exact variant and firmware.
GuidesPurchase
How much does English projector localization cost?
ProjectQ localization starts at 3 000 ₽ per projector. The price depends on the exact model and firmware; current prices are listed in the catalog and on the Prices page. We confirm compatibility, translation scope and the final price before payment. There is no monthly fee for ProjectQ; third-party subscriptions are paid separately.
GuidesHow soon will I get the installer after payment?
Within 10 minutes of compatibility and payment confirmation. The installer is provided in your account. If it does not appear, refresh your request status and contact support with its number; do not pay again.
GuidesBefore purchase
How does ProjectQ localization differ from installing English firmware?
People searching for “English projector firmware” often need understandable menus and settings. This is possible without replacing the factory system image: ProjectQ adds translation and our own system to the original OS. Third-party firmware replaces system software and must match the model, hardware revision and version exactly; an unsuitable image can disrupt the device. Compatible official manufacturer firmware is different from an unknown forum build.
GuidesI bought a Chinese projector without English. What should I do?
Find the full model name and firmware number in the menu or on the case. Open its page in the ProjectQ catalog for the price and available translation scope, then submit a request. The registration app identifies the device, the team confirms compatibility before payment, and the wizard installs English localization and software on your projector at home. Never choose a random “English firmware” file solely because the model name looks similar.
What does the safe ProjectQ localization method mean?
We do not replace the projector’s factory system image with unknown firmware. We preserve the original operating system, check the exact model and version, and install the prepared adaptation and our own software through the standard process. The localization method remains the same; it is now complemented by the ProjectQ TV system. This removes the need to find and flash an unsuitable system image yourself. Follow the instructions for your device; no software installation can be promised to be completely free of errors in every situation.
Can a Chinese projector be translated into English or another language?
Yes, ProjectQ includes Russian, English, German, French and Arabic. For your chosen language, we first check system-menu translation on your exact model and firmware. An English home screen alone does not mean every original setting has been translated. Specify the language in your request; we confirm the scope before payment.
Do you work with Xiaomi and Android TV TVs?
Yes, we accept requests to check these devices. There is no ready public list of supported TVs and prices yet. First we identify the exact model, OS and firmware, check built-in English support and localization options. Only then do we offer a scope and price. TV boxes and streaming sticks are outside this catalog.
Why are VIDDA, JMGO, XGIMI, Formovie and XMING models labeled “Fully in English”?
The home screen, menus and projector settings in English within the supported model adaptation. Third-party apps control their own languages. We check the exact firmware and available features before payment. Installation for each specific variant is checked separately; the label does not replace a firmware check.
Viewing and apps
Will every streaming service and subscription work after English localization?
No such guarantee is given. ProjectQ does not change hardware capabilities, Widevine certification or DRM restrictions in the original firmware. Service availability, video quality, live broadcasts and subscriptions depend on the app, region, account and projector model. Tell us which services you use before payment.
